Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyzing market trends, customer behavior to anticipate fabric demands and identify textile mills or handlooms for fabric development.
- Understanding customer requirements and helping them to obtain the right fabrics at the right price.
- Managing the production time and action plan, coordinating with mills and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Oversee quality control checks on incoming fabrics and samples, ensuring they meet specified standards for durability, design specifications, lab dips (color samples) and color fastness.
- Manage and visit the dedicated list of mills for keeping updated on the latest fabric trends, material and technologies.
- Collaborate with various mills about printing, dying and count construction of the fabrics.
- Mentor merchandisers and guide them on merchandising practices.
Key Skills
- In-depth technical knowledge of textiles.
- Proficiency in costing, order management and negotiations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meeting the deadlines.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Textile Engineering / Technology, Fashion Designing/Diploma in Apparel Merchandising / Handloom Technology/ BBA, B.A, B.Com, B.Com (H) or related field.
- 7–12 years.
